Work with the studio
Services
What the studio sells — and where to go when what you want is the person behind it.
Outright Mental is a studio, not an agency: it makes original games and experiences, and it sells what those properties throw off — licenses, scenario packs, produced nights, sourced research. All of it is below, at stated prices, because you shouldn’t have to get on a call to learn them.
If what you actually want is the person — one operator pointed at your problem, at a stated price, on a stated clock — he takes those engagements directly, on his own site: nickcharneykaye.com/engage/ — the Read, a Build, or the Retainer. The dossiers below stay useful either way: they carry the proof, the offers, and who each line of work isn’t for.
Off the shelf
Things you can buy today:
- XJ commercial embed license — the patented adaptive-music system, tiered by title budget and free for indies under $250k; canonical tiers at xjmusic.com/license.
- Conversation Simulator scenario packs — commissioned scenario packs your institution owns, on a simulator that runs entirely on your machine.
- Tournament Night, Produced — the arcade table and 32-player bracket system brought to your venue, $4,500 per event.
- IGA research briefs — commissioned games-market research at $2,500 per brief, sources pinned per claim, plus a single $500/mo sponsor slot behind a published methodology firewall at iga.outright.io.
- Patent licensing — U.S. 10,446,126, independent of the XJ product; inbound, priced per deal.
- A session on a stage — three written talks, long-form tape, and a direct booking path, on the operator’s own site.
- The games themselves — Fever Tilt on Steam and Conversation Simulator, which runs entirely on your machine.
The dossiers
Six lines of work, each with its own dossier: the offers with their prices, the proof, and who it isn’t for — because a page that qualifies you saves us both a month.
Original Games
The studio's own slate. Wishlist Fever Tilt ahead of Early Access, bring the produced tournament night and its arcade table to your venue, or open the publisher / fund conversation on dev-favored terms.
Open the dossier › V2 · Adaptive MusicAdaptive Music
A score that adapts to the player, with provenance a lawyer can sign. XJ is patented, composer-authored, and locally running — license the embed to ship music made with it, or open a patent inquiry. Not AI music: no training-data exposure.
Open the dossier › V3 · Conversation SystemsConversation Systems
Rehearsal for the conversations you can't send to a server — a disclosure, a discipline, a hard diagnosis. Commission a scenario pack your institution owns, run a measured pilot, or buy the simulator. Local by architecture, not by setting.
Open the dossier › V4 · Skunkworks SprintsSkunkworks Sprints
A concept that must become playable proof on a deadline — game, product, or experience. Fixed-price, time-boxed sprints with a findings memo and a build map, run one at a time. The Read is the first rung; the Retainer is the continuity.
Open the dossier › V5 · Branded PlayBranded Play
A moment that must land on an immovable night. Playable brand pieces with real authorship, produced tournament nights with the studio's own arcade table, and exhibit engineering beside your designers — from the Blaine / DOJ / Stetson lineage.
Open the dossier › V6 · Research & IPResearch & IP
A question that needs sourced, checkable answers. Commissioned games-market briefs through IGA, one tasteful sponsor slot behind a methodology firewall, a perspective-engine pilot over a rights-gated corpus, and the patent as a licensable track.
