How it works

Every sprint runs on the Lab’s exit-criteria discipline — a stage doesn’t end until its criterion is met:

  1. Frame. What must be proven, on what stack, by what date, and against what budget band. Exit: a one-paragraph scope you and we both sign.
  2. Build in the open. Daily-visible progress; the fixed deliverables are the contract. Exit: the prototype runs, or the workflow executes, end to end.
  3. Measure. A playable proof, a before/after, or a live pipeline — evidence, not a deck. Exit: a stakeholder can operate the result themselves.
  4. Map the next step. What it would take to go from proof to production, honestly. Exit: a build map and a go / no-go you can act on.

Questions people ask

Why fixed prices instead of hourly?
Because a sprint is a product, not a timesheet. Senior rates run $80–$200+/hour; pricing the outcome instead of the hours keeps the incentive on shipping the proof, not billing the clock. You know the number before we start.
Who owns what you build?
You own the deliverables — the prototype, the pipeline, the findings — on final payment. Reusable studio tooling and the Vibrator pattern stay open-source and the studio’s; you get the implementation on your repos and the playbook to run it.
What about scope creep?
Deliverables are fixed and written down; a change-order policy is printed on the engagement, not improvised mid-sprint. If the scope needs to grow, we name it, price it, and agree before continuing. The exit criteria are what protect the margin — and your timeline.
What happens after the sprint?
You get a build map for the production version and a go / no-go. If you want continuity, Fractional Technical Leadership is the standing retainer that keeps momentum. If it’s grown into an org-scale program, that’s a Transformation Lab engagement, scoped in the Lab’s own voice.
